Welcome to Chan-Ho KIM(김찬호, 金燦昊)'s Homepage

Hello! I am a number theorist. I am currently working at Department of Mathematics, Jeonbuk National University, Jeonju, Korea.

I am an Iwasawa theorist. I am also broadly interested in algebraic number theory and arithmetic geometry; especially, I am interested in the theme of p-adic variation of L-values, modular forms, and Galois representations via Hida families and eigenvarieties. I am also interested in the refined nature of Iwasawa main conjectures. (What can we see more than the main conjecture in Iwasawa theory?) I am also a big fan of (not necessarily p-adic) variations of espresso. I've met Gauss 2014 and Iwasawa 2017.

I worked at Ewha Institute of Mathematical Sciences during Summer (May-August) 2024. I spent almost 9 years as a research fellow, July 2015 - April 2019, and a CMC fellow (Hyo Chul Myung assistant professor), May 2019 - April 2024, at Korea Institute for Advanced Study (a.k.a. KIAS), Seoul, Korea. I've visited Kurihara lab (video) for November 2016-February 2017.

Before going back to Korea, I was a visiting assistant professor (a.k.a. postdoc) of Department of Mathematics, University of California, Irvine (UCI), CA, USA. I was a member of the UC Irvine number theory group.

Before moving to California, I was a graduate student of Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Boston University (BU), Boston, MA, USA, and I earned my Ph.D. degree under supervision of Rob Pollack. Before moving to US, I spent my undergraduate years at Seoul National University (SNU), Seoul, Korea.

My research was supported by Basic Science Research Program through the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF-2018R1C1B6007009) from March 2018 to February 2023.

I was a recipient of the AMS-Simons travel grant program (2014-2016).
